Bezeq Group Exploring the Deployment of a New Submarine Cable Spanning Thousands of Kilometers to Connect the East and Europe

Holon, Israel – July 2, 2025 – Bezeq The Israeli Telecommunications Corp. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ), Israel’s leading telecommunications provider, announced today that the Group is currently evaluating the possibility of deploying a new submarine cable that would link Israel to strategic landing points in Europe. The cable, stretching thousands of kilometers, is expected to significantly increase Internet traffic capacity and enable the transmission of hundreds of terabits between Israel and Europe. This is a geo-strategic significant initiative that could position Israel as a major telecommunications hub connecting Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East.

The initiative to explore the establishment of this new cable comes in response to clear global trends of dramatically growing digital traffic volumes - both into Israel and along the route connecting Europe with the Near and Far East. This growth is driven in part by the increasing presence of major data and cloud service providers in Israel and the wider region.

Bezeq Group views this endeavor not only as a response to growing infrastructure demands but also as a milestone in a new era of a connected Middle East, with Israel playing a central role as a digital bridge between continents.

To conduct a thorough evaluation of the project, Bezeq has engaged two leading international consulting firms, which have begun a comprehensive engineering, and operational feasibility analysis.
