Withdrawal of Class Action Against “yes”
Tel Aviv, Israel – June 25, 2020 – Bezeq The Israel Telecommunication Corp., Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ), announces:
Further to the Company's Immediate Reports dated September 3, 2014 and June 26, 2019 and the description in section 5.17.1(A) of Chapter A (Description of the Company's Business) in the Company's 2019 Periodic Report concerning a class action against the subsidiary DBS Satellite Services (1998) Ltd (“yes”) about sending marketing messages to yes customers and about a petition for the right of appeal that yes filed at the High Court on the ruling to approve the claim as a class action (“Petition for the Right of Appeal”), an Immediate Report is hereby provided.
On June 24, 2020 the Company received notice from yes that at the hearing held that day at the High Court on the Petition for the Right of Appeal, at the court's recommendation the parties reached agreement that was given the validity of a court ruling, that in place of the ruling given by the District Court to approve a class action, the High Court approved the withdrawal by the petitioners of the petition to approve a class action with payment of an agreed compensation of NIS 100,000 to the petitioners and legal fees to their legal representatives (on account of a change in the content of what yes sends in emails following filing of the petition for approval).
