Immediate Report - Request by Ministry of Communications for Information Regarding Structural Separation
Further to the immediate report dated April 9, 2025, which referred to the Ministry of Communications' announcement stating that reaching a decision on the issue of structural separation by the end of 2025 constitutes a success metric in the Ministry’s work plan, and further to Section 1.7.3.1 of the Description of Company Operations in the Company’s 2024 Periodic Report and the update to that section in the Q1 2025 report regarding structural separation, the Company hereby announces that on June 26, 2025, it received a request for information ("Information Request"), which was addressed to all telecommunications companies.
As part of this Information Request, the companies are required to provide the Ministry of Communications with information regarding the main areas of telecommunications: fixed-line communications, mobile communications, and TV broadcasting, for the years 2023 and 2024. This is in order to examine the issue of structural separation in the telecommunications market and to publish a decision on the matter before the end of the year.
The Information Request also noted that this issue was last reviewed in 2020, which resulted in changes to some of the structural separation rules that were in effect at the time, and that the current review may result in even more significant changes. It was further noted that this is a matter of considerable importance both for the telecommunications companies and for competition in the telecommunications market, as well as for subscribers.
In the Company’s assessment, if as a result of the above-mentioned review, the structural separation is removed, this is expected to have a materially positive effect on the Company’s results.
The information must be submitted to the Ministry by July 17, 2025.
