Approval of Choice of Statistical Areas for Deployment of Fiber Optic Network
Further to the Company's immediate report dated December 25, 2020 and what is stated in section 2.16.12.1 of the chapter containing a description of the Company's business operations in the Company’s 2020 periodic report, regarding an amendment of the Communications Law (Bezeq and Broadcasts), 1982 (“the Communications Law”) concerning the regulation of deployment of an advanced network whereby, inter alia, the Company may select the statistical areas where it wishes to deploy an advanced network and use it to supply Internet access within 5 months of January 1, 2021, an immediate report is hereby provided.
On May 25, 2021 the Company's Board of Directors approved the Company’s plan for fiber deployment (“the Plan”) and submitted it to the Ministry of Communications in accordance with section 14 B(a) of the Communications Law. As part of the Plan, the Company is expected to deploy and operate an ultra-fast fiber network that will cover 76% of the country’s population (the Company estimates this is approximately 80% of Israeli households).
