B144 will find the duty pharmacy nearest to you
- Number of searches for "pharmacy" up 70% compared with summer
- The service is also available at the voice center and by SMS
- The latest TIM survey puts b144 in the top decile
Bezeq is continuing to upgrade its b144 site (http://www.b144.co.il/biz_pharm.aspx), and as winter approaches it is offering a new service - look for the duty pharmacy nearest your home. There are currently 282 pharmacies listed (including chains) in 76 towns all over Israel, and Bezeq is continually adding new names.
Data collated from the b144 site and the voice center indicate that the number of searches in September and October for "pharmacy" or "sick fund" and various health products increased by 70% compared with summertime searches.
Searching on the site is simple and intuitive. To find a pharmacy near your home, go to the b144 site, enter the category in the designated box (in this case, "pharmacy") and the town in which you live. A dialog box opens, in which you can select "duty and on-call pharmacies" in your town. You can also search for duty or on-call pharmacies by date. The site also displays a map, showing how to get there. The 144 voice center also supports the service every day, the attendants are given a new list of pharmacies. You can also access the service by SMS.
The service falls in the "emergency services" category, where you can search for businesses that provide 24-hour service in a range of essential professions, such as locksmiths, electricians, towing and rescue, emergency medicine, taxis, restaurants, and so on. Here too the search is simple: in the category box, write "24 hours", and a list will drop down showing all the businesses that provide such services.
The b144 site was launched about a year ago, and provides users with the telephone numbers of 5.9 million subscribers of all the communications operators in Israel, including cellular, and of about 300,000 businesses. Since launching the site, Bezeq has added numerous services, such as searching by SMS, maps and photographs of houses, and has translated the site into English, Russian and Arabic. In a TIM survey published recently, the b144 site reached a peak of about 23% exposure and for the first time is in the top decile of the most popular sites.
Ran Guron, VP Marketing at Bezeq, following the latest upgrade of the b144 site: "Site data and Bezeq's own surveys show that in the past few months the number of searches for pharmacies and emergency medical services has skyrocketed, apparently because of the growing anxiety about swine flu. Bezeq is constantly investing in the most advanced technologies for the b144 site, in order to widen the gap between itself and its competitors. We will soon be launching additional search options, which will increase our advantage over the competition."
