Workers' Representatives Appointed to Bezeq's Board of Directors-
Yehuda Porat and Rami Nomkin
The general meeting approved today (Tuesday) the appointment of Yehuda Porat as a member of the Company's Board of Directors on behalf of the workers.
In addition, Rami Nomkin's appointment as a Board of Director member was re-approved for a third term.
Bezeq's employees, pursuant to the Articles of Association, have two representatives on the Company's Board of Directors. In elections recently held among Bezeq employees, Nomkin and Porat were elected by majority vote to serve as workers' representatives on the Board of Directors.
Yehuda Porat has a law degree. He studied at Bezeq's college, completing his studies as a practical engineer in electronics-telecommunications. He's been employed at Bezeq since 1991. During these years he filled both field and managerial positions. In his current position, Yehuda Porat serves as Department Head for detecting bugging and special functions, and until his appointment as Board member, he served since 1997 as a representative in the workers' union for Bezeq's management employees, as well as a member of the national workers' committee.
Rami Nomkin has served as an active Board member on behalf of the workers since 1998, and this is his third term of office. He's been employed at Bezeq since 1969 and during these years filled both field and managerial positions. Among other positions, he served as Department Head for switching maintenance and Deputy Director of a field office in the Tel Aviv and Sharon Division. In his current position, Nomkin serves as Head of Service Center for business customers in the Tel Aviv and Sharon Division.
The appointment will become effective after receipt of a letter of appointment from the Ministers of Finance and Communications, as required by the Articles of Association.
