Networking of shelters in the north continuing at increased pace:
About 400 public shelters already connected free of charge
by Bezeq to phone and internet
Including a special shelter for anxiety victims and one for children's activities
Since the beginning of the war, Bezeq has connected about 400 public shelters in the north to telephone lines and internet access, in a project coordinated with the local authorities. Dozens of shelters are being connected every day by Bezeq's technicians.
The project is still ongoing, and Bezeq will continue until it is completed, i.e. until all the public shelters are connected.
Most of the shelters in Shlomi, Tzfat and Kiryat Shmona are connected, and Bezeq crews are now working in Akko, Nahariya, Tzfat, Tiberias, Haifa and the Krayot and in small towns such as Horfish, Fassuta, Dalton, Goren, Grannot, Bar-Yochai and others.
The networking of the public shelters comes in response to the requests that reached Bezeq's customer service center (199) from residents of the north who are confined to public shelters. A particularly emotional request came from Kibbutz Lohamei Hagetaot, and Bezeq employees were quick to connect telephone lines and the internet in a special shelter there for victims of anxiety.
At the request of Kiryat Bialik Municipality, Bezeq connected special shelters prepared by the municipality as activity centers for children. Now the children can continue to surf the internet even when they have to stay in the shelters.
