Immediate Report – Petition to Approve Class Action

An Immediate Report is provided that on April 27, 2021 the Company received a claim together with a petition to approve it as a class action, filed at the Central District Court. The petition was submitted by an Internet infrastructure customer of the Company, in which it was claimed that the Company had caused monetary and non-monetary damages to members of the group that had paid an increased amount for a higher broadband speed bracket than the one they were able to surf in practice, through upgrade of the modem so that they could surf in that bracket, and on account of harassment, causing discomfort, distress and impairment of independence.

According to the petition, the group of claimants should include all those who made use of the respondent’s Internet infrastructure in the seven years that preceded the filing of the petition for approval and until it will have been approved as a class action, and had paid for a certain speed bracket when the infrastructure in their homes was only capable of a lower bracket.

The amount of the class action is stated as not possible to estimate, but in the petition it is stated that “this is damage of millions of shekels, that falls within the authority of the Honorable Court”.

The Company is studying the application and at this point is unable to assess its chances.

Sincerely,
Bezeq - The Israel Telecommunication Corp. Ltd.
