Immediate Report – Declaration of labor dispute in Bezeq International
The Company hereby reports that on Mar 24, 2021 it was notified by its subsidiary, Bezeq International Ltd. ("Bezeq International") that it received a notice from the New Histadrut - General Federation of Labor in Israel – the Cellular, Internet and High-Tech Workers Union regarding the declaration of a labor dispute under the Settlement of Labor Disputes Law, 5757-1957 and a strike beginning on April 7, 2021 (“Notice”).
According to the Notice, the disputed issues revolve around the unilateral intention of management to make organizational and structural changes in Bezeq International, including mergers, unification of operations, synergies with DBS Satellite Services (1998) Ltd. ("yes") and/or Pelephone Communications Ltd. Pursuant to the notification, if implemented, it will materially affect the employees, including employee labor conditions, rights, status, employment security and violation of organizational rights. The labor union is demanding to receive complete details and in full transparency, regarding the organizational and structural changes planned and their implications as well as a demand to enter into negotiations for the purpose of signing a special collective labor agreement regarding employee rights against the background of the aforementioned changes and their implications, including arranging for a safety net to ensure employee rights.
Bezeq International intends to enter into discussions with the labor union in the matter. The Company and Bezeq International are unable at this stage to assess the implications of the Notice.
