PRESS RELEASE

Stella Handler announces resignation from Bezeq

Tel Aviv, Israel – March 19, 2018 – Bezeq The Israel Telecommunication Corp., Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ), Israel’s leading telecommunications provider, today announced that Stella Handler, CEO of Bezeq Fixed-Line, today informed the Company’s Chairman, David Granot, that she would be leaving her position on July 1, 2018. “Having completed five years in my position at Bezeq, in advance of a change of ownership, and in the light of the investigations and the circumstances arising, I have decided to leave my position. This is the right thing to do, both for me personally and for Bezeq,” Handler stated.

“Bezeq today is a stronger and more competitive company, well prepared to maintain its market leadership into the future. I am very happy that I was fortunate enough to be able to contribute toward this future. I believe that Bezeq must preserve its position as Israel’s national telecommunications infrastructure company, and to do so it must become a modern communications group that supplies a complete range of services,” said Handler, and added, “Bezeq’s success is due first and foremost to its excellent employees. Through unparalleled professionalism and a genuine focus on the needs of its clients, it is the Bezeq employees who have led and will continue to lead the Company to success. I wish to offer my heartfelt thanks to every single one of them for five wonderful years of working together.”

The first major decision Handler took when she started in the position was to accelerate the deployment of fiber optic infrastructure, with the understanding of Bezeq’s long-term requirements in particular and those of the Israeli economy in general. Currently Bezeq reaches 1.6 million households with fiber optics, and it intends to launch the service throughout the country, including the most outlying areas. Another key decision was to continue to streamline the Company and to reinforce its position in a competitive marketplace, through incorporating advanced digital solutions. Handler also speeded up the development of innovative services that created additional sources of revenue, which are already bringing in hundreds of millions of shekels annually. These investments, together with the success of the reform of the wholesale market, have increased Bezeq’s market share in infrastructure, and have facilitated increasing the competition in the television and Internet markets.

Bezeq’s Interim Chairman, David Granot said, “In the time I have served as Interim Chairman of the Company I became acquainted with the excellent work of Stella Handler at Bezeq and her deep commitment to the Company’s success. Stella knew how to direct Bezeq to develop new areas of business, operating in a competitive and challenging environment and under complex constraints.”
